Description
This painting was a finalist in the 2026 Muswellbrook Art Prize. We have a large group of apostle birds visit our garden every winter, so when I decided to paint them I just knew that they had to be part of their own Last Supper. The term ‘supper’ is derived from the French ‘souper’ that meant to eat bread soaked in broth or a light meal, so of course my twelve apostle birds had to be paired with a fabulous soup tureen and my favourite tomato soup. This unframed painting is 76cm x 101cm (framed 91cm x 116cm).
