Description
Despite appearances, hopping mice do not eat vanilla slice, preferring berries, plants, grass seeds, insects and small reptiles. They are nocturnal and live in shared burrows underground in inland Australia. The larger surface area of their ears means that the blood that flows through them returns to the body cooler than when it left, thereby keeping them cool.
