Description
Painted for the Nest in the Hills Exhibition this painting featuring the adorable double barred finches perched precariously on piles of precious porcelain. Double barred finches used to be regular visitors to our garden prior to the drought, but since then we may have a couple of visitors occasionally. I miss their little friendly clown faces in the yard, so I have given them a not so stable foundation to perch upon, which includes the famous willow pattern which is a tale of forbidden love and the couple who are reunited after death as a pair of doves. I even have the little clown faced finches performing circus acts on my precarious porcelain. This unframed painting is 80cm x 56cm.
